iolo technologies’ System Mechanic, DriveScrubber and Search and Recover now compatible with Windows 7

LONDON, UK – November 20, 2009 – iolo technologies, the PC tune-up experts behind System Mechanic, #1 best-selling tune-up software according to NPD, announced today that its flagship product has earned the “Compatible with Windows 7” logo. iolo has been tracking for full compatibility with Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP since February 2009, when it initially announced that its product line included one of the first tune-up and utilities software fully compatible with Microsoft Corp.’s newest operating system.

Since then, System Mechanic 9 has undergone key optimizations tailored to Windows 7 and now offers many features that tune and boost PC responsiveness in specific areas unique to its technology. As a result, the product passed high standards of compatibility, reliability and performance required for the Windows 7 logo and is the recommended PC tune-up software for new Windows 7-based machines.

“For years, iolo has worked to deliver PC tune-up products compatible with Microsoft’s newest operating systems,” said Ed Ilas, iolo’s COO. “In 2002, iolo’s products were officially endorsed by the Designed for Windows XP programme. In 2006 System Mechanic became one of the first Windows Vista compatible software programmes. In 2008 it offered 64-bit compatibility as the first comprehensive programme of its kind, and in 2009 we are proud to introduce updates to our product line that allow customers to get the most out of their Windows 7 experience.”

While most often praised for the improved performance, increased stability and extended lifespan it offers aging computers, System Mechanic serves a critical purpose with brand-new operating systems, such as Windows 7, optimizing them for the best possible performance from the beginning, and keeping them that way for the life of the machine. The regular tune-ups performed by System Mechanic allow users to properly maintain Windows 7, preventing slowdowns and bottlenecks before they have a chance to grow into larger problems.

The #1 best-selling PC tune-up program, as well as DriveScrubber and Search and Recover, work across all three of the major Windows operating systems in use today – Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP – on desktop, notebook and netbook computers. Each product license can be used on up to 3 PCs, so existing iolo customers can use their current license when upgrading operating systems or buying a new computer.
