Although 94% of consumers consider their digital content to be valuable, 42% have lost digital photos, music, films or movies some time in the past. This is one of the findings from a large-scale investigation into the use of digital content held by Sitecom among more than 5,000 consumers in 11 European countries. With the Home Storage Center from the Smart Living range, Sitecom responds to the demand for a user-friendly solution which allows the end user to easily organize, manage and securely save digital photos, movies and music. The Home Storage Center makes it possible to save digital photos, music and movies in a central location in the network and to share this content with all the other home users. Just as with all the other Smart Living solutions, the Home Storage Center excels in ease of use, so that even inexperienced users can use it straight away.
Sitecom
The Home Storage Center guarantees maximum security for valuable digital photos, music and movies. It has two drive bays in which two 3.5 SATA II hard disks can be installed without the need for screws or tools, thanks to the advanced tray system. If the user installs two hard disks of the same size in the tray system, the Home Storage Center will be automatically configured for Mirroring (Raid 1). The Sitecom Home Storage Center then automatically makes the second disk a backup disk, which is the safest way of saving digital content. If one of the two disks crashes, then the content is still available on the other disk.
Furthermore, the Home Storage Center automatically creates a copy of new digital files that are saved on desktop PCs and notebooks in the network, so that the user always has a backup of the most recent files.
The Home Storage Center has a USB 2.0 port to which a USB device (hard disk or flash drive) can be connected. The storage device's content is copied to the Home Storage Center by simply pressing the back-up button. This functionality also makes it possible to connect a digital camera and to copy your holiday photographs to the Home Storage Center at the push of a button. An added advantage is that all members of the family will have access to the files.

Digital movies, photos and music which are saved on the Home Storage Center, a computer or a hard disk which is connected using the USB connection can be viewed or played directly on a TV in full HD quality (1080p) with the Smart Living WL-355 Wireless Network TV Media Player, so that the entire family can enjoy the latest holiday photos and movies in the comfort of the living room.
The Smart Living Home Storage Center and the Wireless Network TV Media Player are available now and come with the extensive Sitecom 10-year warranty. The Home Storage Center is available in two different models: without hard disks and with a 1 Terabyte hard disk. The hard disk has a two-year warranty.
