MSI E350-E45 mini-ITX preview

Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of information about MSI's E350-E45 mini-ITX motherboard either, as the company sent us the photos below late in the day without any additional information. Despite this, though, you can still get an idea of what's potentially on offer.

As you can see, the board features MSI's new black and blue colour scheme. The only exceptions to this are the four white SATA 6Gbps ports, which are nestled in between the four-lane PCI-E graphics slot and the large CPU heatsink.


The board features two DDR3 DIMM slots, and otherwise has a similar layout to the Asus and Gigabyte boards, although the battery is sitting vertically and connected to the board by a wire. In terms of features, it shares more in common with the Gigabyte board than the Asus one, sporting a fan on the cooler, and lacking wireless networking features.


Meanwhile, the rear I/O panel has an impressive array of six USB 2 ports, plus two USB 3 ports, along with a Gigabit Ethernet connector and PS/2 keyboard or mouse port. Video outputs include D-SUB and HDMI, but there's no DVI connector. Of course, you could plug a DVI adaptor into the HDMI port, but we don't yet know if a dongle is included. Finally, the audio outputs include optical and coaxial S/PDIF connections, as well as six 3.5mm stereo jack outputs for 7.1 channel surround sound. We'll try to update this page with the motherboard's exact specs once we have more information.
