Much like a Formula 1 car, all this hardware had to be paid for somehow and the sponsors deserve some exposure for their contribution. Since these every visitor to the Home of Chrome would want to know what systems the girls play on, these cases would form an integral part of the promotion of VIA's chipset and S3 Graphics Chrome S27 card. As such, Micke needed to include prominent branding...




As if achieving a consistent finish across block lettering of this size wasn't difficult enough, Micke had a total of 32 logos across the four cases, plus the weapons, and ensure that it was all as identical as possible across the different systems. As much as one can do that when working by hand.

Having printed out the logos, he established the major outlines first. Then there is the arduous process of filling in the area, making sure that all lines flow the same way, creating the impression of a wood-grain of sorts. The effect is very impression in person, but you can get a better idea of it by clicking each photo for a full-size copy.



Each case features the trademark Quake logo on the front door. This wasn't planned originally but you can't give a guy like Micke a case and expect him to give it back with any blank space. Determined as ever to impart his unique flair on things, Micke use a stippling technique to give the logo an almost diamond-encrusted look. In the words of the man himself, it looks "sweet".
