Team Mongoose, on the other hand, has gone for a robot/mech theme which extends to the exterior of the case in quite spectacular style, being made from foam and other plastic parts.

By the end of the day these had been sprayed and the rest of the case had been meched-up too. The team had also installed the water-cooling system, making them one of the most progressed teams by the end of the day.

We were a little concerned with the Chinese team, in that they spent much of day one and two working on some acrylic water-cooling features, which, while very good looking, meant the case itself appeared to have had very little done to it.

In front of them though, SMP Modding had recovered from a day of painting setbacks to return from the spray booths with a beautiful white 509 that they told us would be modded with Mirror's Edge in mind, using red coolant and details and some interesting cable routing ideas too - we expect this to be a very clean looking project indeed.
One project drawing a crowd throughout the day was Team Down Under, with their external radiator box and military design really starting to pile on the eye candy towards the end of the day.

The team has used gorgeous gold Bitspower fittings, including external quick release fittings that allow an external radiator to be fitted for extra cooling performance when overclocking, in addition to the radiator already housed inside the 509 case.

Coupled with copious amounts of ammunition and even a pop-up mini display for the ammo rucksack-inspired external radiator, the Australians are well on their way to finishing their mod.

Team MBF from France are another team that has concentrated on extensively modding their 509 with additional metal sheets being added to almost every surface.
We'll be back soon with the final day of modding action and you can read more at In Win's
competition page including more photos and interviews with the teams.
