The fog machine

The small plastic tank you can see in the middle of the case in the picture below contains the fluid for the fog machine - I thought it would be nice to see smoke coming from a working PC for a change! In the left corner next to the motherboard you can see one of the two Aquastream 12V pumps from Aqua-computer, developed especially for PC watercooling. In conjunction with another product called 'Aquaero' the speed of the Aquastream pumps can be controller - together this dual pump system should be as powerful as one driven by Ehaim's 1250 and as quiet as the 1046 - you can have the best of both worlds!

The motors to drive the front of the case and electric flow control-sensor for the Aqua-computer Aquaero. The yellow plastic under the flow sensor is the back of the second Aquastream pump.




I developed a special filter system to remove the fog fluid out of the case, only the fog is blown to the radiator and the fans behind the radiator help to remove it swiftly.

Attaching the motors to the case

A small step backwards now; a few words on how the motors were attached to the case.




I decided to mount the motor with a gearwheel and a gear rack on a drawer rack; connection to the front was the most tricky part, I tried a few ball and socket joints, the last version is the one shown above. A flexible construction helps to retain the power from the motor should something stop the front from moving.




All of the motors were mounted in a similar way.
