Fixing the CPU/VGA hoses

While test-fitting the cooling, Ediejo noticed one small problem - but it was enough for a perfectionist like him to devise a solution. The cooling hoses for the graphics cards seemed to almost intertwine with the hose leading to his Innovatek CPU block.


On closer examination, the problem was specifically related to the lower of the two 8800 GTX cards. Ediejo devised a simple but elegant solution - a strip of carbon fibre with some holes drilled in it would create a perfect free-floating hose guide.


The final result was just what Ediejo wanted - it kept the hoses distinctly separate, but didn't require them to be artificially elongated or attached to anything.

The lower half

As Ediejo finished the upper water cooling loop, it was time to move to the lower half of the case. A radiator, mounted on the back of the case, would bring the water down to the HDD cooling loop.


During the test fit, it was clear that the bottom of the case was far too dim with just the LED fans. So, Ediejo brought more of the bright LEDs used by the drive bays to the bottom of the case.


The new lighting helped to highlight the cooling loop, particularly the hoses by the radiator and the floating HDD racks.
