Inside out

Though the carbon fibre sheets were rigid unto themselves, they weren't ever designed to be a replacement for the aluminium housing of the case - simply a cover for it. Because of that, Ediejo had to attach them permanently - it was time to get gluing.

Each piece of metal had to be cleaned and roughed to allow the carbon fibre panels to adhere. Once they were in place, though, there was no going back - proper alignment was crucial.

To mask the drive bays, Ediejo created an aluminium cover that wrapped around them. This cover would then be lined with carbon fibre, and have LEDs attached to it to light the inside of the case. So before it was time to mount it, Ediejo had to plan out the optimal LED pattern to shine light where he wanted it most.

After a test fit, Ediejo was happy with the light layout - which meant that it was now time to apply the carbon fibre to the bay mask. This treatment was also given to the top of the divider panel that separates the case into two chambers.

The finished motherboard tray, drive bay mask and divider help transform the upper chamber into a dark grey masterpiece.
