The Corners
The rounded "stacked" corners are really the feature that makes this case stand out.
Once, when I was taking a peek into the local scrapyard, I found a whole box full of these aluminium half-circles. Naturally my thoughts were "Oh, this could definitely be useful some day", so they've been stacked on a shelf until I found just the right place to be able to use them. I began by cutting them all in half:

The right hardware makes all the difference for getting an accurate cut and doing it efficiently - despite there being a dozen to burn through, it was done in no time!

I made an acrylic "rail" to fit them all on first, but I felt this did not work out that well. It just looked ghetto-ish because of all the glue I had to use to hold the pieces in place, and even then it was incredibly fragile because of all the weight that was put on it. Naturally this ended up in me breaking it.
With the last failure in mind, I had to go back to the drawing board for a rethink.

To do it more securely, I cut out four new rails to mount them on, only this time they're made of 3mm aluminium instead of clear acrylic. All the rounded pieces were filed down to roughly the same size, and holes were drilled in all of them.
After some careful attention they all perfectly matched! This was important as they'd be shown off as a major feature of the casing.
