Battlestar Galactica by Brian Carter
Bit-tech feature: Here
Boddaker, or Brian Carter as he's also known inside and outside of modding circles, is one of the most-trumpeted case modders on
bit-tech. Prominently known for his numerous case mods, they're so unique and original that they almost exist in a land between mods and scratchbuilds. In any event, it's incredibly easy to look at them and completely forget that each of them started life as an off-the-shelf case.
We'll be taking a close look at four of Brian's projects, but he has many more that you can see by searching for threads he's started in our project log forum. The first we're looking at in Mod Gods is Battlestar Galactica, which gained a top five spot in our 2008 Mod of the Year competition and is a hugely popular project on our forums having gained almost 200,000 views so far. While it's not the first project that made Brian's name in modding, Battlestar Galactica was the first to become a serious hit on
bit-tech. The phrase 'modded head to toe' comes to mind but it's a familiar theme in Brian's projects - no stone is left un-modded.
In fact, you'd be forgiven for not recognising the Cooler Master Stacker 830 case that lays beneath. Despite the generous use of lighting and screens, Battlestar Galactica remains classy and totally on-theme and remains one of the best sci-fi themed projects of all time.
