Watercooling

The watercooling system had also been upgraded over the course of the build. The biggest change was to use different radiator than the Swiftech one. After a long consultation on many forums I realised I may need a thicker radiator, so changed the double Swiftech and single XSPC radiator to one 60mm thick Feser Xchanger 240. This simplified the loop design and internals of the build back to what I originally wanted.

Of course at this stage the whole case needed a re-design again because the lower level wasn’t prepared to accept this kind of thick radiator. Being so close to PSU I also changed fan configuration from push to pull. This way I gained a bit of space inside the case, helping the recently upgraded Noctua fans to suck air through the radiator and the blow hot air outside the case, using some new ventilation holes in the left panel.

Again, those holes had to be cut with high precision – Tom from Chilled PC did that for me easily on CNC machine. The pump was installed with the XSPC top/reservoir in place of the old drive cage, right in front of the OCZ Vertex. Another change in watercooling hardware was the new GPU block. Instead of the Swiftech MCW60 I used full cover one from Aqua Computers: the new Aquagrafix G200 is a real beauty for my Leadtek GTX 280.
