In addition to Carbon Li being displayed on Point Of View's stand, there were a number of cases on a couple of other manufacturer's stands too. In particular, both Hiper and Cooler Master had a good selection of cases on show.
Hiper had a couple of interesting cases in its booth. The first was based on the legendary Yeong Yang Borg Cube and had a 17" TFT modded into the side of it. In addition, there were two radiators (a 3x120mm and a 2x120mm) installed in the top, along with a pair of reservoirs similar to the one featured in Black Ice a few pages back. The top has been polished, and you can see a nice reflection of the Hiper logo on it to prove how shiny it is.
The second one was based on a flame design, with some laser cut flames added to the top and bottom of the case for good effect. While the flames look pretty good, the tips also look a little sharp too, so it's probably going to be a bit of a pain to transport around. On the inside, the watercooling loop was also themed with red tubing and uses AquaComputer waterblocks... of course, there's a Hiper power supply unit in there somewhere, too!
Cooler Master had quite a few case mods on show -- here's a few of them to whet your appetite. Unfortunately though, some of our pictures didn't come out particularly well so we've had to miss some of the better mods out. The Fairy Tale mod, dubbed Fairymoon was made by Hilenaluna, one of our female forum members. It's based around the Cooler Master Centurion 532 case and is around two years old, we're told. It's always great to see girls showing off their creations in a hobby that's generally dominated by the male species -- awesome!
Hotrod is based around the Mystique 632 chassis, and is designed to look like a car. I guess it's a bit like the
BOSS FX-57, in that respect. I think in a straight fight between the two, BOSS gets a tip of the cap from me.
The final case that concludes this roundup is based on Cooler Master's slightly older Mystique 631 chassis. The creator has modded an LCD into the side panel, and also added a couple of windows too. One of the windows, and also the fan grill installed in the top of the chassis has been given a green lip, which was used to great effect in Ediejo's recent Cooler Master Stacker mod. Inside, the system isn't particularly new, but it is completely watercooled with a single 120mm radiator.
Until this time next year, happy modding!
