Brake Calliper

To continue the authenticity of this mod, I needed to mount a calliper to the brake disc. The inspiration for this was photos like this taken when editor Wil Harris went to the Ferrari F1 launch earlier this year.

Obviously their budget for brake components is higher than mine! I had to make do with a salvaged part but again, since it's just a stationary case mod, what does it matter? It arrived rather rusty but it really just needed some sanding and it was back to "as new" condition.

The next step was a coat of red paint - to make it go faster, I'm told. When you compare the Before and After pics, you wouldn't even know it was the same part.

Mounted in place, it definitely makes a big different to the authenticity of the case - now it looks even more like the real deal.

Obviously compared to the Ferrari version it isn't as sporty but then again, can their version play DVDs and surf the internet? Mine will soon - time to install the system.
