Where is the hard drive going, you ask? Clearly there was no room for the drive cage from the original version of this mod but everything is under control. By function as well as design there was more than enough room under the motherboard to mount a single hard drive. Let's get busy.
Two more lengths of our friend, Mr Aluminium Rod, and two lengths of his close relative, Mr Aluminium plate.
I used the two rods as a support, since there was a large hole in the middle of the disc where the axle attaches. I used epoxy to hold them in place, and again for the side panels. It might look like a bit of a ghetto solution but it does the job just fine.
I decided to give them a quick coat of red paint. None of this will be visible at all but it's just one of those things you have to do just in case somebody really does look closely.
This is what it looks like fully mounted, first from behind and again from the front. You can see the hard drive poking out a little bit from behind the motherboard but when both aren't visible from the front, it doesn't matter hugely. Indeed, such is the success of the component stealthing that when some friends came over they said "dude - why have you got one tyre in your kitchen?" They got a big surprise when they found out what the answer was.
