Pictures
You didn't seriously think I'd fly 12,000 miles and not give you some pictures of the sights and tastes of China, right? After all, many members of our forums are huge digital photography buffs. For those of you who are, pretty much all of the shots you see here were done with one of four Canon 400D dSLR cameras that we had between us (everyone except me, which is a long, painful story I'd rather not relive). We were shooting with lenses anywhere between a 10-22mm wide-angle and a 70-300mm IS lens, but most were shot with either a 17-85mm IS or 28-105mm.Since most of us are shooting in RAW and the swapping cameras has made it hard to keep original owners separate, these images are not "click to enlarge." However, if you would like a copy of any of them, please contact me via e-mail or PM on the forums and I will be happy to try and oblige.

Food and Fun
Dumplings, either steamed or fried, are one of Beijing's traditional dishes. And we all agreed they taste good, too.
Breakfast in China is actually quite a heavy meal. These two dough balls on the left are actually not dough balls at all but puffed up eggs. We're not sure how they get that way.
Yes, those are scorpions. Live scorpions. They get battered and deep fried. We didn't try them, but this guy did.
The city of Beijing
Cityscapes from the roof of The Place at night. The building on the left is part of twin towers, and the lights pulse down in different colours.
This screen isn't just huge, it's downright massive. Next to it (and our convention center) stands a pair of buildings with such odd angles and design that we'd never seen the likes of them before.
Beijing can be a pretty crowded place. The view on the left is down "Snack Street," and the shot on the right is from a hotel window.
The picture on the left is an office building in the first ring. Beijing is divided into "rings," with the first being closest to city center. To the right is a picture shot from a pedestrian overpass.
To the left is an ancient tower shot from the top of PC Online's office building (I climbed out a window to get the shot). To the right is a gate we stumbled upon in the city.
