Synthetica by AnG3L
Project Log: Here
Calling AnG3L's projects mods or scratchbuilds just feels wrong. They're more like works of art, with an insane amount of work always being put into his unique and original projects. With plenty of Mod of the Year and Mod of the Month nominations, not to mention several projects already under his belt this year, Synthetica looks set to be his most interesting project yet.
The project began with some of AnG3L's usual obscure and detailed work, resulting in a gorgeous custom-made reservoir and the beginnings of the case. Later details included these awesome power and reset buttons, which were made using acrylic.
The main event so far has to be what we believe to be the main shell of the case. Starting with a fibreglass and filler-filled shell, this was smoothed off and painted to give it a fantastic metallic sheen. It would maybe have been enough to leave the project there - it looks superb - but AnG3L went one step further and used his epic textured painting skills to give the shell a weathered, rocky appearance.

forum.
That's all for this month! We'll be back next month with 2011's final edition of Mod of the Month, with Mod of the Year just around the corner. Stay tuned.
