The Ivory Tower by -TYPHOON-
Project Log: Here
We've already mentioned the need for more water cooling friendly cases this month and The Ivory Tower is another great effort although it's actually an ambitious modding project rather than a scratch build. The case in question is a Lian Li PC-A77 which forum user -TYPHOON- is hoping to turn into a sleek-looking water-cooled tower.
Preliminary renders of the design show a stark white case flanked by large vents for 4x120mm radiators and we can just about make out the familiar inverted ATX design which in our opinion is quite underrated.
To fit the radiators in, -TYPHOON- made custom brackets which sit either side of the case and should provide some rigidity too. The large cut-outs in the side panel are just begging to be filled with a large radiator.
After some sterling work, two EK Coolstream XT 480 radiators were pictures in the project log and test fitted in the case. These should provide ample cooling for -TYPHOON-'s Intel Core i7-based system.
Here's a close-up of the neat arrangement for the radiators and also a snapshot of the custom removable motherboard tray and back panel which had to be made. Make sure you check -TYPHOON-'s project log regularly to see what are sure to be some exciting updates full of eyecandy.
