The parts to be painted were primed. Note the masking tape on the handle grips. I wanted to keep the rubber grips black.

The only part of the DVD to be painted was the facia, as I wanted to maintain something of a black/green military feel.

Once the paint had cured, the front facias of the cases were prepared to have their mirrored fronts refitted. This consisted of cutting and applying double-sided tape to the facias.

The mirrored front refitted still with its protective film in place.

The I/O panel had also been masked to retain the black/green theme. Plus keeping the connector symbols meant that the case had lost no functionality.

Here are the finished painted handles and clasps ready for fitting to the cases:

The case sleeves were primed...

...and then spray painted followed by the handle and clasp being riveted in place.

A quick fitting to gauge how the overall effect is progressing.
