Putting the system in the aquarium in an attractive manner was going to be one of the hardest parts of the mod. We started out by designing the tray, which was constructed of aluminum and UV-green plexiglass. The top tray is hinged, allowing the motherboard to lift up when installing a hard drive or other component.

Water cooling was an obvious addition to an aquarium case, but the reservoir and retaining method for the CPU block needed a little colour. Back to the green plexi!

The backplate and PCI bracket was a bit of a different matter. The case would never be "closed" properly, so this would always be freestanding and need a little more support. Because of that, we did the backplate out of a thicker acrylic. Of course, it's no fun to just make this something simple - so we cut some flames into it.

The northbridge fan received a similar treatment, which helped to carry the theme on. Otherwise, it might have looked a bit more like we just cut one piece than part of the overall design.
