The finished timer counts up / down, is programmed by a red-illuminated, vandal-resistant and lockable keypad (which also powers and resets the system and ejects DVDs) and has the mother-of-all alarms. The all-Innovatek cooling system includes a Fan-O-Matic Pro VFD in the upper window, that controls the two pumps and radiator fans in the water cooling system, monitors flow and temperature and has four indicator LEDs set into the timer.

The rear of the case is well ventilated and attaches to a set of ball-bearing runners, which allow the entire motherboard tray to slide out. I'll show how I did this in Part III.

Octagonal, stainless steel pipes and brackets suspend the main cylinder between them. Set into the top of the case are two LED displays from a set of Corsair XMS Xpert RAM. These are run remotely from the memory modules, via a set of ribbon cables.

A set of vandal-resistant switches control the VFD, and you can see the Corsair displays. Inset into one end of the case is a massive air-intake for a very special radiator....

Some other features of the project include:
  • Stainless steel case construction
  • Custom-built double radiator
  • Two SFF power supplies, modified to be water-cooled
  • Two 12v Eheim HPPS Pumps, flow meter, fan voltage and coolant temperature monitoring
  • Concealed DVD drive and plug bay
  • And many more features which I will cover in this article, and in Part III.
So, what's inside? What does it all do? What's it all for? Read on...
