Hardware

To match the cases well thought out and executed design and construction, I needed some great hardware and luckily, a few great companies stepped up to make Yuugou a performance beast.

Silverstone stepped up to give me its new 850W Strider Power supply.

Corsair graciously sponsored 2GB of its C4D Dominator memory, complete with fan assembly too, (I have special plans for this).

And last but not least, BFG Tech sponsored me with the fastest card on the market -- the 8800 GTX watercooled. BFG also threw in a PhysX card which I ended up modding to match the water block on the GTX. I took an old Thermaltake cooler, sanded off the ugly orange finish, and painted the acrylic black. Together, they look very nice.

Corsair Fans

Although the Corsair fan system is quite cool, the blue tape on top did not go well with the black powder coat or aluminium. To make the fans match, I decided to add a touch of wood.

For the materials, I chose koa veneer to match the outside and ebony which I cut into thin strips and glued together. I glued the koa veneer to the ebony core and then drilled the necessary holes for the fans. After that, I finished it the same way as I did the maple and the end result is quite pleasing.
