Forza Motorsport 7

Publisher: Microsoft Studios

For a modern racing title, we've selected Forza 7. It utilises the DirectX 12 API, but this is a game developed primarily with a console in mind, so even at the maximum settings we use, it is one of the easier titles in our suite to run. By default, the game has dynamic quality settings that can change as you play, but this is obviously incompatible with keeping results comparable across hardware. As such, we head into the Advanced tab of the Video settings and manually set every option to the highest available one to prevent dynamic settings from changing the render quality mid-benchmark. The only options for which this isn't true are Resolution Scale and MSAA, which are set to 100 percent and Disabled respectively. We then use the game's own built-in benchmark, which is accessed with the F key in the Video settings page. Results are obtained via the game's own report at the end of the benchmark.
