Summary:

In our high detail tests we see no obvious difference bar a few fractions of frames per second here and there. The Sapphire PI-A9RX480 was slightly slower than the SLI motherboards, as it dropped a single frame in Doom 3 at high detail. SLI proved to be a different story, though. The ABIT AN8-SLI is slightly faster than the Foxconn NF4SK8AA in both Doom 3 and Far Cry, while it is fractionally faster than the ECS KN1 SLI Extreme in Far Cry and FEAR, but Doom 3 was three frames per second faster on the ECS KN1 SLI Extreme.

In the low detail tests, the ABIT was marginally faster than the ECS board in Far Cry but marginally slower in Doom 3. In FEAR, the AN8-SLI seems to loose nearly ten frames per second in comparison to the Elitegroup board. We’re not sure why this happened, but it was also slower than the Sapphire PI-A9RX480 in the FEAR benchmark. Having said that, you’re not going to notice ten frames per second when the scene is already being rendered at 200 frames per second.
