Insane performance, stunning looks, a lot under the hood. It's no wonder I love this system - we have a lot in common. It sounds like rather a cliche, but it's true - the Aurora 7500 is expensive, but it goes like a 350Z on NOS, with looks to match.

I love the dual-everything theme that is going on in the system. Dual-core, SLI graphics, RAID 0 - it really shows the way that the industry is moving. There's a reason it's headed this way - insane performance - and the Aurora delivers that in spades.

It's true that the X2 isn't as fast as the FX55 in single-threaded applications, and that is one area where this system falls down. However, the X2, in my opinion, is a far better all-round processor in everyday use, and I hope that everyone gets the chance to try dual-core sooner, rather than later. If, however, you really can't do without the edge of the 55, Alienware can spec it into your system for you.

In fact, the 7500 is amazingly configurable. Alienware offer a number of options on all the hardware that's included, allowing you to start at a fairly base level price and scale it all the way up to the monster that we have on show here. This level of customisation and flexibility is definitely a good thing, and we applaud it.

The 7500 is a hassle-free beast of a gaming machine. Forget setting up SLI profiles, picking matched cards, setting up a RAID array - let Alienware do the hard work for you. If you're a gamer that simply has to have the fastest thing out there, buy this system. If you think that saving the money is more important than getting this rig as a package, then this isn't for you.

However, Alienware have always said that regardless of price, they make computers that people can aspire to. Right now, all I can say is that I aspire to making sure the delivery guy never gets anywhere near picking this baby up.
