Batterylife's Activator Results

In the graph above we've plotted the useful energy stored in our laptop's battery for five cycles before fitting the activator, and for the five cycles after fitting the activator. There's a 2% variation from the average energy stored (shown in red) prior to the activator being fitted which we attribute to the unusual complete cycling effecting the battery's capacity. One thing's blindingly clear, Batterylife's Activator made no difference whatsoever.

Final words

Our null result with the Activator may be due to one of a number of factors; our battery may be too new and/or have no degradation (though it has been well used and will have its first birthday soon) or we may not have cycled the battery enough to see any improvement. While the manual states 5-10 cycles may be necessary to see the claimed improvements (up to 30%), our test setup is easily capable of detecting a 1% improvement to the battery life which we'd expect to see easily if Batterylife's claims are to be believed. Looping our high capacity Dell battery as many times as we did takes a significant amount of time, we spent over sixty hours testing this product, nevertheless as this may have been insufficient time we will be repeating the test at various points in the battery's future, if any improvement is ever measured an addendum will be
added to the review!

To be perfectly frank we doubted Batterylife's Activator from the moment it landed on our desk, from the bad physics and lack of any reasonable explanation of its working to the complete negative result we measured in our testing. It's hard to ignore the positive reviews of this product that Google will lead you to, my only comment about these is that if you were to test the Activator in an unscientific manor you might mistakenly attribute improvements in battery performance to the Activator when in fact it's the complete looping of the battery which is doing the good.

We couldn't possibly recommend you buy the Activator at any price and suspect it's a piece of black sticky tape with some glitter stuck on top.
