Intel's Core 2 Duo processors

Gaming Platform Peformance:

The Core 2 Extreme X6800 was matched by AMD's Athlon 64 FX-62 in our Call Of Duty 2 platform test, while the Core 2 Duo E6700 was only one fps behind the two flagship CPUs.

The Quake 4 platform test was dominated by the 4MB L2 cache Core 2 Duo processors - the X6800 was 18% faster than the Athlon 64 FX-62.

Again, Intel's Core 2 Extreme X6800 was the fastest processor tested - it was faster than AMD's Athlon 64 FX-62 by nearly 23%.
