Quake 4:

Intel's Core Duo meets the desktop Quake 4
At stock speeds, the Core Duo T2600 is not quite as fast as the Pentium Extreme Edition 965, and also not as fast as the Athlon 64 X2 4800+. However, when the chips' front side bus is increased from 166MHz to 200MHz, the chip performs well in comparison to the Athlon 64 FX-60 in our CPU-limited test.

When we increased the resolution and details to 1280x1024 4xAF High Quality, the T2600 performed well against the Athlon 64 X2 4800+, trailing by only 0.3 frames per second. When overclocked to 2.6GHz - the same clock speed as the Athlon 64 FX-60 - the Core Duo chip was nearly five frames per second faster than it. In fact, it was almost four frames per second faster than the rest of the field.
