Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 11Gbps Overclocking

As we saw with the Aorus GTX 1080 Ti, this card allows you to increase its power limit to 150 percent, theoretically allowing the card to boost further – most partner Nvidia cards are limited to 120 percent or less here. You can also increase the temperature limit to 92°C.

With both settings at their maximum, we were able to add 200MHz to the GPU, which saw it boosting reliably to 2,037MHz and sometimes even 2,050MHz – a solid result. This was with the voltage slider in the Aorus Graphics Engine software set to the maximum amount, although this did not appear to actually make any difference.

The new, faster GDDR5X reached an impressive speed of 1.5125GHz for an effective speed of 12.1Gbps – a solid 10 percent boost.
