DDR4 and Memory Speed Tests
We've run through a few speed tests to see which memory speed is the best option given the fairly high price you'll currently pay, especially for the faster kits. We used Asus's X99 Deluxe motherboard although all X99 motherboards suffered from issues running memory at 2,666MHz and above. According to MSI, this is down to the Intel RC code limitation on X99, running memory faster than 2666MHz resulting in a change of BCLK from 100MHz to 125MHz. As such the memory speeds were a few dozen MHz away from their rated frequencies in order to keep the CPU frequency the same between each test.
