Read performance benefits more from lower latency than outright bandwidth, however write performance is more affected by bandwidth than latency.

5-5-5-15-1T is obviously quicker than CL-7s or 8s, but interestingly just 66MHz of 1,866MHz at CL-8 is a few ns faster than 1,800MHz Cl-7.

Sandra offers an alternative, indicating that a combination of bandwidth and latency make for faster memory and again the Corsair 1,800MHz at 7-6-6-18-1T seems to perform the best.
At the same 1,866MHz speed and latency, the Super Talent memory seems to always come out a fraction slower in these synthetic benchmarks.
