As a gaming platform, socket AM2 appears to be slightly better than Socket 939 - a lot of that is down to the additional memory bandwidth provided by the DDR2 memory controller. However, it is worth mentioning that the situations tested here are CPU-limited - GPU limitations are not accounted for.
