The compression performance of the Gigabyte EP45-DS3R is really very good and in both tests it sits on the upper half of the table, just a nose behind the Asus P5Q Deluxe.

Large file decompression is all but a fraction slower than average, but in comparison small file performance is very near the top - only second to a far more expensive X48 DDR3 board.
