At six seconds behind both the Asus and MSI board on average, the Gigabyte board can't seem to keep up with the rest of the AM3 pack.

Handbrake H.264 Encoding

Our test uses HandBrake - an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded video transcoder, available for MacOS X, Linux and Windows - to encode a high resolution MPEG-2 video using the H.264 codec. This primarily tests multi-threaded CPU and memory subsystem performance.


Video encoding performance is pretty good, stretching out a three second lead compared to the Asus board, but it's still a large 22 seconds behind the MSI board on average.

In the multi-tasking test though, Gigabyte comes up trumps by four seconds compared to the other two boards, which again feature very similar in performance.
