Cables and Connectors
Affixed cables include:
- One 60cm 20+4-pin ATX cable
- One 60cm 4+4-pin EPS 12V CPU cable
- One 65cm 6-pin PCI-Express cable
- Two SATA cables with connectors at 45cm, 60cm and 75cm
- Two Molex cables with connectors at 45cm, 60cm 75cm and a floppy connector at 90cm
Being a budget power supply, the list of connectors was never going read like a child's Christmas list, but as you can see the cable choices are sensible with enough length to reach the connectors even in a larger case. The 4+4-pin CPU 12V power connector specifically indicates that this will power quad core AMD or Intel systems without too much hassle, although the single PCI-Express connector should be noted as its power limitations are elsewhere.

The SATA connectors are quite stiff to connect but at least they're held firmly in place, and the Molex connectors feature small plastic arcs on either side which, when pushed, eject them from the plug socket far easier. Despite the inexpensive cost, it's great to see these little features here.

The single 6-pin PCI-Express connector may be a problem for some people though more often than not graphics cards that require two such connectors ship with Molex to 6-pin adapters, and even if they don't you can pick them up at PC-building titbit heaven, Maplins or the forums for a mere couple of quid. Ultimately though, if you are building a PC with a graphics card that needs two of the plugs, you should probably be opting for a slightly beefier PSU, not to mention the notably lower gauge wiring used for the Molex cables isn't designed for high currents.
