Vadim Cepheus Q80

Whilst the Vadim Q80 is slightly more powerful than the Alienware PC with Blu-Ray we looked at recently, they are both targeting the same hardcore gamers that require these types of ultimate gaming rigs. The main difference between the Vadim and Alienware is the the factory overclocked quad core QX6700, versus the standard X6800 in the Alienware, but the Vadim also has a custom watercooling setup and case, in addition to the £1500 price tag over the Alienware. As a computer isn't just for looking at, we compared them to see if the raw numbers could justify the extra pennies spent on a Vadim.
With the exception of SiSoft Sandra, all of our benchmarks have been engineered to give you numbers that you are likely to find useful when actually using the products we have evaluated in the real world.
Vadim stresses that its PCs can take anything we could throw at it, and with dual GeForce 8800 GTXs in SLI and an overclocked quad core CPU, it can take quite a lot. Whilst we believe that the consumer is never likely to subject their platform to this level of stress, most poorly engineered products fail within the first couple of hours, or even minutes, allowing us to make a conscious decision on whether a platform is worth your money, regardless of how well it performs in our benchmarks.
