X99 Motherboard Group Test: Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI

We've reviewed the CPUs (see our review of the Core i7-5960X here and the Core i7-5930K and Core i7-5820K here) and also looked at the impact of DDR4 memory here. So now you know where your hard-earned cash is going as far as CPUs go, it's time to take a closer look at some of the X99 motherboards that are on offer.

We've got a mix of boards today - four in total, and more are on the way too - slightly delayed as we decided to wait for more stable BIOSes to appear on the scene. We've got three of the full-size ATX variety and also a snazzy-looking micro-ATX X99 model for those of you considering a smaller LGA2011-v3 system. Unfortunately, our ASRock sample arrived a little too late to be included here but we'll be looking at its stunning example in the very near future.

For now, here are the four motherboards we've reviewed with their in-depth analysis over the following pages. Click the images or text below to go to the reviews.
