Xigmatek Nebula C Review

Manufacturer: Xigmatek
UK price (as reviewed): £54.95 (inc VAT)
US price (as reviewed): $79.99 {ex TAX)

We've seen some great mini-ITX cases already in 2015 although we can't hope to cover everything. In fact one very interesting case we missed recently was Xigmatek's Nebula - a mini-ITX cube with supremely compact dimensions yet enough room for a half -decent gaming system too. Xigmatek has returned with the same design and the case we're looking at today, the Nebula C, features a couple of refinements.

To start with is the colour. Instead of black the Nebula C is a glossy white, with the exterior being made up of three side interlocking panels as well as a roof section. At £55, you can't expect aluminium here but the panels fit together very well to maintain a sleek look and to avoid a tacky demeanour. The result is a case that we'd be happy to have sitting on our desk.

There's a hint of innovative cooling about the Nebula C, but sadly, that roof section and the lip beneath it don't allow for a vertical cooling arrangement. This is a little disappointing as it would only mean a few alterations inside to allow air to escape through this lip too, without messing up the exterior's clean look. As the case is so small, it makes sense to put the power button on top as it's easily accessible whether you place it on the floor or a desk.

Both it and the hard disk activity light sit clad in orange acrylic, providing a welcome break to the stark white exterior. It probably won't be to everyone's tastes but it's sticking to Xigmatek's regular colour scheme if nothing else. The base of the case reveals a huge vent that acts as the primary intake for the Nebula C, seeing as there are no vents on the front or either of the side panels.
