For those of you who have been hungry for some good IPTV (television over internet, for those of you not hip with the lingo) but have grown tired of Fifth Gear snippets on Joost, we might just have an answer. Channel Flip, a new IPTV service founded by our own former Editor-in-Chief Wil Harris, is now successfully streaming to a computer near you.

Wil had left bit-tech to found Channel Flip in an effort to combat some of the drivel and lacklustre productions in the IPTV world. For quite some time, the technology has been viewed as little more than a courier for either home-based productions or the same stuff you're not watching on TV to begin with.

Of course, we've had to keep it a little under wraps while he was getting it all structured, but we can finally point you all over there. The site has been running a full schedule of three shows for two weeks now, for a total of 9 episodes each to get you hooked. More shows are in the works, but for now you can take a gander at these three creations:
  • Unwired - Wil's own show, which covers the review of one of the latest new tech gadgets or toys that you just have to have.
  • Discus - Talk of the latest home video releases (DVD, BR and HD), both newly released and shortly upcoming with Justin Gayner.
  • Play:Digital - Video games discussion, previews and reviews by Katharine Fletcher.
Episodes release three times weekly and are only 3-5 minutes in length so they're perfect for a quick watch before work. Of course, they're downloadable in AVI, WMV and Quicktime formats, as anything from Wil would be expected to be iPod/iPhone compatible...so you can also grab them and go. In fact, you can also snag them via iTunes - those of you who know Wil are undoubtedly shocked.

Also in the works to come shortly are an indie music show, mainstream/current news, and a men's fashion show (which should generate quite a few comments from our readers). A cooking show is also in the works to be released later.

So zip on over to www.channelflip.com and check it out...then make sure to leave your thoughts in our forums!
