Army of Two was looking fairly good, we thought, and a few of us were really looking forward to the chance of trying a new co-op game until it was delayed by four months. As it stands now though, that delay may have been a bit of a godsend because previews from
just before the delay was announced have revealed that the game was looking rather substandard anyway.
Xbox World Magazine managed to get a copy a day or two before the delay, according to
Games Radar, and weren't very impressed. In fact, they were fairly savage.
The game was slammed on virtually every count and was billed as a graphically disappointing game filled with a poor story and faltering gameplay.
"
Army of Two is a juvenile swear-fest with clumsy controls, a story apparently penned by a seven year old who hates them ay-rabs, laughable level design that tosses you into a cut-scene every thirty seconds, sub Perfect Dark Zero graphics and the two least likable characters in gaming history," said the magazine.
The preview then goes on to say that the delay may have been announced purely so that the game can get up to scratch but that, even so, it's doubtful that the game will be bought up to spec in just four months.
