Microsoft saved the best for last at its E3 press conference here in Los Angeles today.
We all expected to see Halo 3, and thus so it comes to pass. The trailer looks... well, pretty cool. It's all pre-rendered, but inspires that
tingly feeling nonetheless.
(Update: it's not pre-rendered!)
If you have an Xbox 360, you can go grab the trailer off the Marketplace now - although we understand that the service is a little slow at the moment, for precisely this reason.
However, there's a mirror over at
Xboxyde, which also includes some fetching screencaps.
The game is confirmed to be released in 2007, missing the PS3 launch window and finally putting paid to the rumours that it would be Microsoft's ultimate spoiler.
Halo, we've found, tends to split gamers - with some thinking it the best thing since sliced bread, and others really failing to see what the fuss is all about. Frankly, given the cliffhanger ending of Halo 2, this writer is positivly chewing his fingernails off in anticipation.
Check out the trailer, then
