Warner Bros. has announced the existence of
Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, sequel to the popular comic-based game from earlier this year and currently a popular contender for
Game of the Year.
Warner Bros. has apparently taken over the publishing for the game, while Rocksteady will return to develop the sequel.
Details on the game are scarce - there's no hint of platforms, release date or plot, but
a teaser trailer has been released which shows chaos in Gotham City and the Joker, tended by Harley Quinn, chuckling. He does that a lot.
A new website for the site has sprung up too,
ArkhamHasMoved.com, which hints that the game may no longer be set in Arkham Asylum - or that the asylum itself will be located elsewhere.
"
We are thrilled to build a global game franchise from Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is receiving an incredible response from gamers and fans of Batman around the world," said WBIE president Martin Tremblay.
"
Rocksteady has taken Batman to a new level in the videogame space and we are committed to delivering a sequel the fans will love."
