Bethesda has confirmed that the new Creation Engine, which will be used in the upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will support mods in the PC version of Skyrim.

Confirmation comes via Big Download, who point to the official message board where a Bethesda community manager confirmed that the PC version of Skyrim specifically will support mods, just as previous games in the series have done.

'Like the Elder Scrolls Construction Set for Morrowind and Oblivion, we plan to release Creation Kit so you guys can mod Skyrim,' said the community manager in question.

Skyrim will move players to the northernmost reaches of Tamriel, where The Elder Scrolls have prophesied the rising of a dragon that could destroy the world. You, the last Dragonborn, must avert this catastrophe.

Skyrim is currently set for a November 2011 release, but until then you can let us know your thoughts in the forums.
