Electronic Arts may not have
meant to announce
Command & Conquer 4 just yet, but news that good can't be contained forever and the announcement has slipped out a little bit early thanks to the twitterings of a EA's UK PR team.
The announcement hit twitter for a little while yesterday, indicating that EA Los Angeles was working on
Command & Conquer 4 before linking to a press release which didn't exist.
As these things often are, the twitter was quickly covered up by Electronic Arts but by that point it was too late.
Joystiq snapped a picture of the twitter to prove that it did exist at one point and the news spread like wild fire.
The accidental announcement isn't the only news we've heard about
Command & Conquer 4 either, with a leaked survey from one of EA's research firms indicating that the game was in development back in last June. According to the survey the game will include 5v5 online multiplater, a complete co-op campaign, RPG-like player advancement and new mobile base units.
There's currently little other word on the game and we're not sure whether the cast of the last few games will reprise their roles, but we certainly hope we'll be seeing some more of
Gemma Atkinson if nothing else.
