IO Interactive has released the first teaser trailer for the much-rumoured fifth entry in the Hitman series, though no official announcement has yet been made.
A full unveiling is now expected to arrive at E3 on June 7th, 2011, based on hints dropped in a Hitman alternate reality and a date hidden towards the end of the teaser trailer.
The teaser trailer doesn't show any in-game footage, but does reveal a title for Hitman 5 - Hitman: Absolution.
The last entry in the series, Hitman: Blood Money, is widely regarded as a stealth-action classic and was released in 2006. Since then Danish developer IO Interactive has been mainly concerned with the Kane and Lynch series, which exists within the same universe as Hitman according to references riddled throughout both series.
