GamesCom 2010: Kalypso Media announced it was developing a new title in the long-running Patrician series, Patrician Online.

Patrician Online will be a free-to-play, online adaption of Patrician series that plays in a browser.

The title will be developed in partnership with online games portal Gamigo and marks the first time that Kalypson has ventured into the online browser-game genre. Not that that has stopped Kalypso from planning more online games in the future, mind.

German speaking audiences will be able to play Patrician Online first, with an English language version said to follow at a later date.

Precise dates are yet to be nailed down, but Kalypso has confirmed that it won't be released until 2011 at the earliest.

We caught up with Kalypso earlier today and, while we didn't see any sign of Patrician Online, we did see the recently announced Dungeons on PC – look out for a preview on that in the near future.
