Gran Turismo 5 just might have got even more exciting is recent rumours are to be believed, with
E4G apparently having uncovered that the legendary racing simulator will ship with some form of track editor.
Of course, news of a new track editor isn't as exciting as other news might be - such as, say, a concrete release date. The game has been in development for what feels like forever and is still only listed for an 'Early 2010' release according to Sony and even that isn't a solid one.
Sony have refused to comment specifically on the presence of a track editor in
Gran Turismo 5 and have released a very carefully worded statement that only increases our speculation.
"
We haven't confirmed this and aren't offering any other comment at this time," Sony told
Eurogamer.
Of course, that contractdicts directly with what E4G heard from a Sony representative who told them quite specifically that that the game will support the creation of new tracks and the editing of existing ones.
“
Yes it will have a track editor. You will be able to rebuild a track from scratch or edit the tracks that are already put in Gran Turismo 5"
That comment was later pulled back, with Sony refusing to hand out any information and claiming that fans will have to "
wait and see".
