Lian Li has officially announced a new slimline home-theatre chassis for mini-ITX motherboards, the PC-Q19, to launch in September.
Constructed from brushed aluminium - and if that comes as a surprise, you've likely never seen a Lian Li case before, the chassis measures just 160mm thick with a depth of 286mm and a height of 491mm. Based on the company's existing PC-Q12 design the case comes with a stand for vertical use, or it can be laid down horizontally. Despite its diminutive dimensions, the PC-Q19 can pack some serious hardware: a bundled riser card allows for graphics cards of up to 220mm in length to be fitted along with three 2.5" drives and a single 3.5" drive.
There are restrictions, of course: the case requires a CPU cooler no taller than 85mm, and will only work with a compact SFX-format power supply which is not included in the bundle. There are only two expansion slots, both of which will be filled by a graphics card, although two USB 3.0 ports at the front of the case provide room for expansion via external peripherals. A single 120mm fan at the side of the case provides cooling, and is protected by a removable and washable air filter.
Lian Li has confirmed that the PC-Q19 is to launch mid-September in the UK, with a manufacturer's recommended retail price of £99 for both the silver and black variants. More details and images can be found on Lian Li's product page.
