NZXT has announced the impending availability of a limited edition H440 case variant, which reaches Europe with a new matte black finish, tinted window and green colour theme likely to appeal to Nvidia fans especially.
Based on the overall design of the existing H440, the H44 Special Edition makes changes which are by and large cosmetic only. The steel of the case is finished in a matte black paint, while the bundled side-panel includes a tinted window as standard. Ventilation is provided by a new hexagonal mesh design, while a green theme is undeniably evident: the USB 3.0 ports are green rather than the traditional blue, NZXT's logo is picked out in LED-illuminated green, the rear input/output panel is lit by yet more green LEDs while a final batch is used to provide a green underglow at the base of the case.
As with its predecessor, the gaming-oriented case includes an integrated power supply shroud designed to provide advanced cable management, four FN V2 case fans - three 120mm at the front and one 140mm at the rear - and support for up to two 360mm liquid cooling radiators, one at the front and one at the top. Six internal 3.5" drive bays are included, on a steel drive bay which includes captive screws, while the case supports up to eight 2.5" drives and seven PCI expansion slots.
The front of the case includes two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and analogue audio out and microphone in connections situated on the top panel, along with a power switch to the left-side of the case. Its overall dimensions are unchanged from the standard edition at 220mm wide, 476mm deep and 510mm high, weighing 10.3kg and supporting ITX, micro-ATX and ATX motherboard options. CPU coolers up to 180mm in height and expansion cards up to 305mm with the hard drive cage or 406.2mm without are compatible, and the case includes a two-year warranty.
NZXT has confirmed that the H440 Special Edition will be available to pre-order throughout Europe in the very near future, at a €149.99 suggested retail price. UK pricing has yet to be confirmed.
