Our first taste of Monsoon's new compression fittings came
a few months ago. We were wowed by the vivid colour and effective design that not only looked better than traditional compression fittings, but were easier to use and generally more desirable too. Add to the fact they're not that much more expensive than other makes, and it's no wonder they're proving very popular.

You'll be glad to hear that Monsoon is working on plenty of other pieces of water-cooling gear too - we'll hopefully be looking at these soon, but for now we're taking a peek at its new rotary fittings and Lightport products. We've had plenty of dodgy rotary fittings over the years, and while it's generally safe to opt for the cheapest compression fittings you can lay your hands on, with rotaries you usually get what you pay for.

Monsoon's come in 90 and 45 degree angles with a G1/4in port and are available in various different sizes. This is in order to match up with whatever compression fitting size you plan to use - the neck of the rotary fitting can be the same size, avoiding having a bulbous compression fitting at the end of your rotary fitting.

They're available in pretty much every colour you can imagine, even green, gold and white, and you have the option of adding what's called an Accent Disk - an end cap that you can match to your specific colour of compression fitting. For example, you could opt for red compression fittings, a black rotary fitting and a red Accent Disk, which would look great if you're aiming for a red and black theme.
