World in Conflict

Publisher: Sierra

We regard World in Conflict as one of the best real-time strategy games we've ever played. It's based on Microsoft's DirectX 10 API and, in collaboration with Nvidia's The Way It's Meant To Be Played developer support team, it incorporates some DirectX 10 specific graphics effects.

For our testing purposes, we used a full retail copy of the game and patched it to version 1.007, which includes a few fixes and some improved performance under DirectX 10.

Again the B3 Phenoms jump a leap and a bound over the B2 Phenoms, more so than in Crysis – offering a several frame per second performance advantage: the high end 9850 is eight fps faster than the previous fastest 9600, and the 9750 at the same price of the 9600 is now four frames per second faster.

There is an almost identical performance between the yellow and red turbo modes again at low resolution, however it extends fractionally more at higher resolutions and settings when it is more GPU performance bound.
